Christmas Shipping

Allow extra time for deliveries - CWU strikes planned

We've reached that time of year when thoughts turn to Christmas shopping and making sure we have all our gifts delivered on time.

The team have been very busy packing orders and making sure they are on their way to recipients without delay.

Unfortunately due to CWU (Communication Workers Union) strike action planned throughout December services are going to be severely disrupted, 7 days of striking are now planned between 1st-24th December. We ask you please allow extra time for your orders to be delivered. These strikes affect both Royal Mail and Parcelforce, both services we use to ship orders with.

Our virtual and physical doors will close on December 23rd and re-open on January 3rd.

This year our last shipping dates for delivery on or before Christmas Eve will be:

Standard Delivery 3-5 days UK Mainland - 13/12/22 (strike action 14th-15th December)

Express Delivery UK Mainland - 20/12/22 (strike action 23rd-34th December)

Whilst these are the final shipping dates, we cannot guarantee delivery prior to Christmas Eve due to the strike action planned in the coming weeks we expect disruption to all services.

Planned strike dates are as follows:

  • Thursday 1st December
  • Friday 9th December
  • Sunday 11th December
  • Wednesday 14th December
  • Thursday 15th December
  • Friday 23rd December
  • Saturday 24th December

Our recommendation is that you place your orders as early as possible to ensure there are no disappointments.

We will be closed during the Holidays from 22/12/22 to 3/1/23.

All orders placed during this time will be processed during the first week of January.

From all the team at Chocolates Direct - We wish you a Merry Christmas
